  • SupportMaster
  • VideoMaster9

SupportMaster: The first of the new line of VideoCafé products is the SupportMaster. The SupportMaster10/25 is a combination of all the features that comes with the TourMaster50 but has even more functionality. It has TWO Video Feeds (Host and Client) and includes RemoteAnything functionality (like PC ANYWHERE but a smaller file). There are two SupportMaster room sizes, a 10 or 25 user version. This is the perfect product for ISP's or any organization that offers Online Customer Support. It has many possible uses and it is readily accepted by ISP's, Distance Learning organizations and anyone who has a need to access another PC to fix problems, share documents and more.

Following is an overview of the main FEATURES of a SupportMaster and how to use them:

Username & PasswordEntry

Administration Controls Boot/Banish Functions

Live Voice & Text

Mic Control

Web Page PUSH Technology

Whiteboard

Dual Video Feed

RemoteAnything Functionality

As the administrator, you enter your SupportMaster via the Moderator URL provided (ends with host.htm) and enter your Username/Password. You are provided with an Administrator URL and Username/Password plus a separate Client set. You should NOT give the host.htm URL or password to anyone other than a Moderator. You can have several Moderators enter the above URL, if you wish to, for example, have one person run the Whiteboard and another to look after the BOOT/BANISH functions, etc. A Moderator is the only person who can HOLD the MIC, others must click and hold the TALK button or hold down the F9 key. Once the room has loaded, you would enter the PASSWORD provided when prompted by the JAVA pop-up box (this is for Whiteboard functions). The password would be supplied if you are a Moderator. When the room loads, you will see a Whiteboard pop-up and separate text chat box...click the Minimize button or the UNFLOAT button to remove it.

You can maximize it or click on the FLOAT button to bring it up again when you're ready to use it (use the scroll bar to see the buttons). Clicking the F11 (full screen) button, will give you a better view of the program and it is advisable to ask guests to do the same. The separate Whiteboard Message Board TEXT facility (not the one attached to the voice program), allows for group as well as PRIVATE messaging (by selecting a name on the list, you can send a private message). This feature loads automatically whenever the Whiteboard is floated...click the FLOAT button to bring this up. You can add backgrounds/graphics for the Whiteboard in ADVANCE by simply clicking the SET BACKGROUND button and then typing in the URL to a graphic you wish to have available for demonstration purposes, then clicking UPLOAD.

You would do this individually for each graphic...you'll see a list their .gif or .jpg names appear as they upload. SM10/25 owners receive 25 megs of FTP space for these graphics. When you wish to display a graphic during a presentation, you would again click on SET BACKGROUND and this time select the graphic required by clicking on it, then click on SET. Once the graphic is loaded you can use the Whiteboard features to DRAW on the graphic to point out specifics. Clicking CLEAR will remove any text or drawings done on the background graphic. Graphics that have been loaded to the Whiteboard can be SAVED by guests/students, with any notations made during a presentation, by clicking on the SAVE button and giving the graphic a NAME and entering an email address, then clicking submit. The PUSH Web Pages feature is very simple to use. We recommend that you have a text list of URL's that you may wish to show, and that you copy and paste as required, then click PREVIEW to see that it loads correctly before broadcasting the room to guests. Clicking BROADCAST loads the web page for ALL to see.

Just note that you don't need to add the 'http://' part of the URL as it is built in. Once a page is pushed, the Whiteboard is replaced but you can bring it back by clicking the Whiteboard button. For your own SupportMaster room you would create Usernames and Passwords for those approved to join a presentation. Anyone who proves to be obnoxious can be removed from your access list and/or you can use the BOOT or BANISH buttons that come with the SupportMaster product. The BOOT and BANISH buttons are very easy to use. If someone misbehaves and after a warning STILL doesn't follow your set protocol, you can warn them that they will be BOOTED for 10 minutes or BANISHED PERMANENTLY. It's as simple as clicking on the offenders NAME and then clicking either the BOOT or BANISH button. The most EXCITING feature of the SupportMaster is the ability for the HOST to push a small 70Kb software program from the Moderator Console, called REMOTE ANYWHERE to a client on the page by just clicking on the REMOTE button. Most IT professionals and many web users have heard of PC Anywhere...this software works just like it only it is a fraction of the size and cost.

The freeware version is supplied with the SupportMaster product and is quite effective without the need to register, unless being used for periods of longer than 5 minutes or regularly on a number of PC's. As a Customer Support tool, it REDUCES the time it takes technicians to solve problems over the phone as they can offer to FIX or SHOW a customer how to fix a problem, in a fraction of the time it takes to WALK them over the phone! There are many users this technology can be used for, this is just one...it is recommended that as an Administrator that is intending to use the SupportMaster for Technical Support, that you set your screen display to 1024x768 resolution. The SupportMaster also includes the ability to add Video Feed(s). You can have both host and client Video Feeds.

VideoMaster9 :

The VideoMaster9 is a powerful new addition to the VideoCafé range of products and delivers powerful communication features and functionality. Now you can have NINE webcams feeding onto one page...not just 2 or 4 but 9 plus with the VoiceCafé Audio Engine you get HIGH QUALITY, better than phone voice quality...incredible VOICE combined with exceptional multi-video feed, there's NO other product like it for the PRICE. The VideoMaster9 is the perfect product for Corporate Conference Calls, Chat Masters, Online Dating Sites, Online Trainings, Family Gatherings, Gaming and more! While others struggle to combine 'passable' 2 way video feed, often at the expense of voice quality, OpTecs VideoCafé products are LEADING the field! There are several VideoMaster9 room sizes, a 10, 25, 50 or larger audio user rooms are available if required.

Following is an overview of the main FEATURES of a VideoMaster9 and how to use them:

  • Multiple Video Feed (9 webcams!)
  • Username & Password Entry
  • Administration Controls
  • Ignore Functions
  • Boot/Banish Functions
  • Kill Objectionable Video Feed
  • Live Voice and Text
  • Mic Control
  • Web Page PUSH Technology

As the Administrator/Moderator you enter your VideoMaster9 via the Moderator URL provided (ends with host.htm) and enter your Username/Password.  You are provided with an Administrator URL and Username/Password plus a separate Client set.

For your own VideoMaster9 room you would create Usernames and Passwords for those approved to join a presentation.  Anyone who proves to be obnoxious can be removed from your access list and/or you can use the BOOT or BANISH buttons that come with the VideoMaster9 product.

You should NOT give the host.htm URL or password to anyone other than a Moderator.  You can have several Moderators enter the above URL, for ease in the management of guests, pushing web pages and the VideoMaster9 webcam software, though there is a link that allows visitors to access the software at the bottom of the page (Get Video Uploader)...see below.

A Moderator is the only person who can HOLD the MIC, others must click and hold the TALK button or hold down the F9 key.  Also Moderators are the only one's who can PUSH Web Pages.

The BOOT and BANISH buttons are very easy to use.  If someone misbehaves and after a warning STILL doesn't follow your set protocol, you can warn them that they will be BOOTED for 10 minutes or BANISHED PERMANENTLY.  It's as simple as clicking on the offender's NAME and then clicking either the BOOT or BANISH button.

Another nice function is the Moderator's ability to INSTANTLY Kill Questionable Video Feeds.  This function is controlled by a dropdown menu between the BOOT/BANISH buttons.

The VideoMaster9's most important feature is its ability to service up to NINE Video Feed(s)

Visitors don't have to have a webcam to join the voice chat but obviously this product is mainly aimed at those who do.  Following are the instructions for acquiring the special video software for the VideoMaster9 and how to upload your webcam feed.

INSTRUCTIONS for uploading webcam feed: (First check that there is an AVAILABLE video image box available...check with room administrator which one you can use then make sure your webcam is plugged in).

1] You can start by visiting the Client URL if you are a visitor and clicking on Get Video Uploader (2 Meg file) then installing the software once downloaded.

2] While you're on the Client URL, OPEN the VideoCafeUploader software from: START > PROGRAM FILES > VideoCafeUploader.

3] You'll first be presented with a small message: Before clicking Upload Video, please choose which frame you would like to upload to.  This may be found in the Drop Down Menu labeled Video Screen Number, click OK.

4] After clicking OK, you should be presented with a small interface that is streaming your webcam image...DO NOT CLICK ON UPLOAD VIDEO YET. The first step is to click on the DROP DOWN MENU arrow and select the cam image number that you were advised was available.  Once selected and it shows in the box where Video Screen Number was, you can proceed to click on UPLOAD VIDEO.

5] You can enter your name via the Caption selection - You can edit this by clicking on TOOLS > Caption.

6] To make sure that the image you are uploading isn't too LARGE, set the size to 160 x 120 by clicking on TOOLS > Video Format and entering in the boxes next to Image Size.
